Activity: Assess the State of Health in Your Community

The World Health Organization lists the leading causes of death on a global scale. Local government agencies and nonprofits may list leading causes of death for their own communities as well.

To complete this activity:

Do an online search to identify the leading causes of death in the area where you live. You may choose to explore information specific to your country, your state, your city, or even your neighborhood.

You may wish to use a notebook to write down your thoughts, or open a document to take notes on your computer or mobile device.

Once you have located a reputable source of data on this topic, answer the following questions:

What do you notice?
Which of these causes are the same as the ones listed by Dr. Tom Campbell, and which are different?
How many of them are related to nutrition?
What commonalities do you observe?
